It goes somewhere private
Photos, videos, and recordings are held in private storage. They are shown to you through short-lived links generated at the moment you open them, never from a permanent public address.

The whole design assumes you are holding a toddler with one hand. Nothing in Storygarden requires you to file, categorise, or tidy anything before a memory is safe.
Three steps.
Create a child profile
A name you choose, and optionally a birth year and a photograph. That is the whole setup. A birth year rather than a full date of birth, because an age beside a memory is all the product needs.
Save the moment
Open the app and type a line, add photos or a short video, or record a voice note. Or text it in and carry on with your day. A title and a date are filled in for you and can be changed later.
Revisit it whenever
Everything lands on that child’s timeline, grouped by day. Search it, filter it, share a piece of it, or set something to open on a date in the future.
What happens after you save something.
Worth knowing, because it is where most apps quietly do something you would not expect.
Nobody else can reach it
Every read is checked against your account at the database itself, rather than in the app. A bug in the app still cannot show another family’s memories.
Nothing is rewritten
A texted message may have its title or date suggested by a model, and only ever as a suggestion. Your words are never edited, and a photograph or recording is never sent to an AI provider at all.
Sharing, in practice
Sharing is a decision, not a setting you forgot about.
When you create a link
- You pick the child and the exact memories
- You are told, before it is created, that anyone holding the link can view them
- Memories you save afterwards are not added to it
- You can add a passcode, and you can revoke it at any time
When you invite a person
- They accept an invitation before they see anything
- They see the memories you granted, and nothing else
- They never see your other children, your settings, or your billing
- It is free for them — an invitation never asks anybody to buy anything
